Top Five Recap
Four out of the Five top five teams from 1946 remained in the Top Five and both Newark and Gotham finished April exactly
where they finished 1946. Coney Island (Guadalcanal in 1946) and Hoboken (Atlantic City in 1946) swapped positions with
Coney Island taking the top spot. Coney Island who won the GYBL World Series in 1946 as Guadalcanal looks primed
to defend in 1947. The newcomer to the Top Five is the Flatbush Bums who finished at #5 and look much improved over 1946.
Dacula was the only 1946 Top Five team not to remain as they dropped to #9.
Notes:
Biggest gains for the month from end of 1946 were Flatbush up 7 spots (#12 to #5) and Coney Island (Guadalcanal in 1946) up 3 spots (#4 to #1).
Biggest drops for the month from the end of 1946 were Dacula 4 spots (#5 to #9), Atlanta 4 spots (#8 to #12) and Hoboken (Atlantic City in 1946) 3 spots (#1 to #4).
