1 8 2 15 14 15 Northern Great Whites Weaver 17 - 9 0.654 101.48 31.21 - amazing month, but is it for real? If they can maintain imprv to either Pch or Off Div is theirs.
2 1 11 1 (1) 1 Burbank Barnstormers Martin 20 - 6 0.769 101.11 2.68 - Pch stumbled a bit but Off carried them to 20 wins. Will be surprise if not back at #1 in May.
3 3 9 11 8 11 Hunnefield Flyers Alston 16 - 8 0.667 96.37 17.74 - solid Pch early but will need to maintain it all season to wrestle Div from Dallas.
4 6 6 2 (2) 2 Oregon Pioneers Anderson 16 - 10 0.615 92.89 6.11 - Imprv in Off from #10 to #6 offset drop in Pch from #1 to #6. Prbl with Pch was 26hrs.
5 9 4 5 0 5 Pittsburgh Crawfords Anderson 16 - 11 0.593 91.70 8.81 - if better than expected Pch continues & Mayberry (.163) & Staub (.227) start to hit watch out.
6 10 4 4 (2) 4 Dallas Hilltoppers Alston 18 - 8 0.692 90.06 5.21 - should return to top 5 after teams above come back to earth, too much talent not to.
7 4 10 3 (4) 3 San Diego Conquistadors Martin 13 - 11 0.542 90.02 3.80 - 13gms vs 3 of the top 5 Off took its toll on their bully. Should imprv next month.
8 13 3 8 0 8 Sleepytown Dukes Anderson 15 - 12 0.556 85.03 5.20 - Blue continued to underperform (1-3) but rest of staff picked up the slack & looks solid.
9 20 1 7 (2) 7 St. Louis Shrikes Anderson 12 - 13 0.480 79.76 -0.25 - May/Hunter/Cuellar looked great but Off managed only 5hrs for entire month.
10 16 6 19 9 19 Wisconsin Snow Goblins Alston 13 - 13 0.500 74.96 11.38 - great start to season as SP had an unepected 19Qs. This will be nice story if continues.
11 2 20 10 (1) 10 Fremont Indians Martin 13 - 13 0.500 72.06 -7.23 - SLS & FMI should talk trade. FMI's Off is potent but needs some imprv in Pch to compete.
12 5 17 6 (6) 6 Asbury Park Rockers Martin 9 - 17 0.346 71.14 -9.67 - thought Preseason rank was high but only 9 wins? PI says more wins are due.
13 18 6 9 (4) 9 Wellington Boots Weaver 10 - 15 0.400 70.70 -8.96 - disappointing start as bats are ice cold (.229BA). Off should be better than #18.
14 11 15 13 (1) 13 Texas Fire Ants Weaver 10 - 16 0.385 68.73 -7.22 - still rebuilding but in weak div so if things fall right could make run at division crown.
15 12 13 14 (1) 14 Cincinnati Chilis Weaver 13 - 12 0.520 68.54 -6.29 - got worse than expected Off & Pch yet tm won 13 gms. Ry looks like fav for Mrg of year.
16 13 13 17 1 17 Cooperstown Double Days Weaver 11 - 15 0.423 64.89 -0.67 - Pch & Off both imprv from #16 to #13 but lost 4 of 6 extra innings gms which hurt record.
17 6 19 20 3 20 Savannah Shoeless Joes Alston 10 - 15 0.400 60.28 -1.21 - still like their Off as Boog is off to hot start but only 8Qs prevented a better record.
18 17 12 12 (6) 12 Atlanta Crackers Alston 8 - 20 0.286 58.71 -19.81 - 0-5 in extras as bully hurt them but worst of all Palmer 0-5 with 4.78era killed them.
19 15 16 18 (1) 18 Toronto Crown Royals Martin 11 - 13 0.458 55.84 -9.30 - 7-11 in Div and 4-2 vs Weaver Div. Overall 11-13 is not bad start, they could surprise.
20 19 18 16 (4) 16 Florida Elks Anderson 5 - 19 0.208 41.22 -24.56 - Seaver 2-1 rest of SP went 0-13. all we can say is ouch!
Top 5 Recap
A huge surprise this month as preseason #15 Northern jumped all the way to #1 as they edged out preseason #1 Burbank by .37pts. Northern improved their
PI index by +31.21pts as both their offense (#17 to #8) and pitching (#10 to #2) saw big gains. Despite seeing their PI index increase, Burbank fell to #2 as they
did not get as strong of a pitching performance (#2 to #11) as predicted. There was another top 5 surprise at #3 as Hunnefield improved 8 spots from #11 thanks to
better than expected pitching (#17 to #9).  Oregon fell from #2 to #4 even though their PI index improved by +6.11pts. Pittsburgh had to improve their PI index
by +8.81pts just to hold onto the #5 spot as their pitching improved dramatically (#15 to #4). Right on Pittsburgh's heels are Dallas at #6 and San Diego at #7 both of
whom fell out of the top 5 to make room for the 2 juggernauts.
Burbank took over the #1 offense as Fremont fell to #2 while St. Louis takes over the #1 pitching spot from Oregon who fell to #6.
