        • Joaquin Andujar of Columbia tossed the 18th 1-hitter in BDSL history.
        • Palm Beach Elks became the 7th team to hit 3 consecutive homeruns in a game. Amazingly it is the 5th time it has happened this season.
        • Rupert Jones of Fuller tied a record with 3 consecutive homeruns. He is the 2nd Fury to accomplish this in 1984 and it’s the 12th time to happen overall.
        • Fuller tied a record by not allowing a homerun in 12 consecutive games and the streak was active going into September, but unfortunately they allowed a homerun in the 1st game in September.
        • New York City tied a record by not incurring an error in 10 consecutive games and the streak was still active going into September, but it ended in the 1st game of September.

·         We have updated our records & streaks pages and now have a link to them from the BDSL homepage. Here are some notable events that occurred in August: click here for more details

        • Tim Raines of Bay City set a record by stealing 7 bases in a game against Oregon.
        • Steve Carlton of Wellington became 8th pitcher to face only 28 batters in a complete game win against La Grange.
        • Mark Thurmond of Oregon tied a record by throwing only 80 pitches in a complete game against London.
        • Bud Black of Bay City tossed the 17th 1-hitter in BDSL history.
        • Thunder Bay tied a record by scoring 21 runs against Wellington which makes it 2 months in a row that someone has scored 21 runs and 4th time overall. In the same game, Thunder Bay also set a new record with 13 runs in 1 inning and tied another record with 9 consecutive hits in the game.
        • Bay City, thanks to Raines record setting 7 stolen bases, broke the team record by stealing 10 bases in a game.
        • Barnett Shale and Toronto both tied a record by hitting 3 consecutive homers in a game. This is the 2nd time for Barnett Shale this season.
        • For the 5th consecutive month a player hit 3 consecutive homers … Dwayne Murphy of Fuller did it in August making it the 7th time it has happened this season and the 11th time overall.
        • Fuller tied a record by not allowing a homerun in 12 consecutive games and since the streak is still active going into September, they could own the record outright if they can do it once more.
        • New York City tied a record by not incurring an error in 10 consecutive games and this streak is also still active, so they could own the record with one more errorless game to start September.

·         We have updated our records & streaks pages and now have a link to them from the BDSL homepage. Here are some notable events that occurred in July: click here for more details

        • Rick Honeycutt of New York City tied a record when he pitched 11 innings against North Hollywood.
        • Steve Trout of North Hollywood tied a record by allowing 13 earned runs in a game. What makes it even more interesting is that it happened on July 5th verse Palm Beach on same day and month that Palm Beach did it to Rick Honeycutt back in 1982. The Moral of the story is you do not want to be the starting pitcher against Palm Beach on July 5th, 1986!
        • La Marr Hoyt of New York City became the 3rd pitcher to allow 5 homeruns in a game.
        • Eric Show of Thunder Bay became 7th pitcher to face only 28 batters in a complete game win verse Vegas.
        • Steve Carlton of Wellington set a new record by striking out 7 consecutive batters in a game against Toronto.
        • Jose DeLeon of Oregon tossed the 16th 1-hitter in BDSL history.
        • Bay City Barracudas tied a record by scoring 21 runs against Sleepytown (who happens to be one of the 3 teams to score 21 runs).
        • Oregon became the 8th team to hit 8 doubles in a game.
        • San Diego became the 2nd team to come from 8 runs down to win a game when they did it against Toronto this month.
        • For the 4th consecutive month a player hit 3 consecutive homers … Lou Whitaker of Oregon did it in July making it the 6th time it has happened this season.

·         1st No-Hit, No-Run game in BDSL history was thrown by Decatur’s Bret Saberhagen against the Vegas Velvet Knights on June 8th. In 1982, London’s Dave LaPoint threw a no-hitter but allowed a run.

·         We have updated our records & streaks pages and now have a link to them from the BDSL homepage. Here are some notable events that occurred in June: click here for more details

        • Mark Langston of Kingston and Dennis Eckersley of Toronto threw the 14th and 15th 1-hitter in BDSL history. Not sure what this means but there has been at least one 1-hitter in every June since the inception of the league.
        • The Savannah Shoeless Joes tied a new record with 8 doubles against Columbia.
        • For the 3rd consecutive month a player hit 3 consecutive homers … Ken Phelps of Toronto did it in June making it the 5th time it has happened this season.

        • John Candelaria of Savannah ties a record by facing on 28 batters against London and in the process throwing the 13th 1-hitter in BDSL history. The day before Mike Smithson of Chicago threw the 12th 1-hitter against Sleepytown.
        • The Fuller Furies set a new record with 29 hits against New York City.
        • For the 2nd month in a row, we had 2 players hit 3 consecutive homers … Jerry Willard of La Grange and Dale Murphy of Wellington. Murphy’s streak is still active and we could set a new record by leading off June with another homerun!

·         We have updated our records & streaks pages and now have a link to them from the BDSL homepage. Here are some notable events that occurred in April: click here for more details

        • Craig McMurty of Vegas set a new record with 181 pitches in a game against LaGrange.
        • Heading into 1984, we had 2 occurrences of a team hitting 3 consecutive homeruns. That total doubled in April as both Decatur and Barnett Shale accomplished the feat. However, the amazing part about it is that both times it happened against Chicago and even more amazing is that it was Mario Soto who allowed it to happen both times.
        • and to make things even more interesting both Decatur and Barnett Shale had players tie a record by hitting 3 consecutive homeruns. Andre Dawson did it for Decatur and Dave Kingman did it for Barnett Shale.
