7 12 4 6 (1) Charleston Rays Martin 43 - 32 0.573 88.07 -0.94 - off heated up moving from #16 to #12 but pch dropped 2 spots. Cant argue with 18 wins.
8 2 10 8 0 Oregon Pioneers Alston 44 - 33 0.571 86.36 1.64 - Schmidt 89rbi/32hr at mid point but only 3 iw? Will go as far as Schmidt will carry them.
9 12 8 12 3 San Diego Aztecs Martin 39 - 36 0.520 80.52 5.22 - 17 wins very impressive for tm in seller mode. SP has stepped it up a notch.
10 4 14 11 1 Fuller Furies Weaver 41 - 36 0.532 78.52 3.00 - pch impv 2 more spots & off dropped 1 and tm continues slow rise up 1 overall.
11 1 17 10 (1) Milton Mavericks Weaver 38 - 40 0.487 77.00 1.40 - 17 loses as dominant off cant offset a very weak SP staff. Still hanging in WC race.
12 12 10 14 2 North Hollywood Hornets Martin 39 - 35 0.527 75.30 3.39 - imprv both off 2 spots and pch 1 spot & tm moved up 2 spots despite -3 run diff in mos.
13 6 15 9 (4) Wellington Knights Alston 34 - 43 0.442 73.94 -4.58 - bottom fell out in June with 19 loses. 10-24 interleague but 24-19 intraleague.
14 18 7 13 (1) Palm Beach Elks Anderson 36 - 41 0.468 73.19 0.46 - off impv a bit but off dropped 4 spots as tm finished June under .500 again.
15 15 13 17 2 Decatur Diamond Dawgs Alston 37 - 40 0.481 68.73 8.32 - recovered from disasterous May to win 14 in June. July may determine their fate for '83.
16 18 12 16 0 Vegas Velvet Knights Weaver 29 - 46 0.387 63.02 -2.61 - from bad to worse with only 9 wins in June. Bad SP is still mystery, we still expect better.
17 8 18 15 (2) Toronto Crown Royals Martin 29 - 47 0.382 62.74 -6.86 - record continues to drop in line with PI. Maybe long summer in Toronto.
18 17 15 18 0 Thunderbay Black Jacks Anderson 34 - 42 0.447 60.41 2.27 - solid month with 14 wins (7-7 on road). If they can repeat in July, we may have something.
19 15 20 19 0 Columbia Senators Weaver 24 - 53 0.312 51.79 -2.68 - now Hough has stopped winning but tm still hit their 8 win quota for the month.
20 18 18 20 0 London Rippers Anderson 24 - 51 0.320 49.68 4.12 - bright spot … 7-5 on the road this month. They only had 4 road wins coming into month.
Top 5 Recap
Sleepytown's PI continues to drop, but they retain the #1 spot for the 2nd month in a row. LaGrange, the only other team in BDSL to hold the #1 spot,
retains the #2 spot, but is nipping at the Dukes' heels only 2.8 pts behind. Philadelphia re enters the top 5 as they jump 4 spots from #7 to #3 despite a sub .500 record.
Savannah falls 1 spot to #4 and is just percentage points ahead of #5 Barnett Shale. New York City is odd man out as they drop to #6 but are only
.30 points behind #5 and only .62 points behind #4.
Other Items of Interest
* Milton remains the #1 ranked offense, while Sleepytown holds on as the #1 ranked pitching staff but is joined again by LaGrange.
* Sleepytown has been the #1 ranked team for every period during 1982 and 1983, except for April 1983 when LaGrange held the spot.
* Philadelphia sits at #3 and has the honor of being the worse record ever to be ranked in the top 5. The only other team to be ranked in top 5 with a sub.500 record was Columbia in June 1982.
* In 3 seasons of BDWL and now 1 season of BDSL, the #1 ranked preseason team has never won the Championship.
* Oregon represented the WJL in World Series despite a #11 ranking at season's end. 
* Oregon reached the playoffs despite being a #15 ranking in pch at seasons's end and Decatur reached playoffs despite a #15 ranking in off at season's end.

Teams on the rise: Philadelphia up 4 spots (#7 to #3), San Diego up 3 spots (#12 to #9) and Decatur (#17 to #15) & North Hollywood (#14 to #12) up 2 spots.
Team heading south: Wellington down 4 spots (#9 to #13) and New York City (#4 to #6) & Toronto (#15 to #17) down 2 spots.
